Lady Vikings advance!

March 11, 2010 —     The Lady Vikings took down Breathitt County in the first round of the Houchens Industries/KHSAA Girls Sweet Sixteen® Basketball Tournament.  Rowan's gals will face off with Clay County at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green on Friday.  Tip off is set for 2:30 p.m. EST.

  • Goldy wins prosecutor’s race

    Morehead attorney Ronnie Goldy Jr. will be the next commonwealth’s attorney in the 21st Judicial Circuit consisting of Rowan, Bath, Menifee and Montgomery counties.

    He carried three of the four counties in Tuesday’s Democratic primary and garnered a total of 2,575 votes.

    A Morehead State University student missing since Wednesday night turned up safe and sound Sunday morning in Albuquerque, N. M.

    MSU Police Chief Matt Sparks he received the welcome news from the father of Daniel Hiser, 20, of Washington Court House, Ohio.

    Former UK standout Sean Woods, who led Mississippi Valley State to the 2012 NCAA Tournament, Friday was named the 13th head coach in Morehead State University history.

    Morehead State University officials confirmed Saturday night that Men's Head Basketball Coach Donnie Tyndall has resigned to become the coach at the University of Southern Mississippi.

    Kentucky State Police at Morehead was notified at 3:50 p.m. by Rowan County Dispatch of a single vehicle rollover accident at the 143 mile marker on Interstate 64 in Rowan County

    Kentucky State Police at the Morehead post received a call involving a single vehicle accident on KY 172, 3 miles East of West Liberty. 

    Kenneth Brown, 17 of West Liberty, was operating a 1998 Pontiac Firebird eastbound on KY 172.
