These days, most of us are feeling the impact of the recession. We are concerned about the economy and are searching for ways to save money. YOUR Rowan County Public Library is here for you, and we can help you save money.
Internet access is free at your Public Library. E-mail your family and friends, send electronic greeting cards, play online games, and search for information without paying for internet service or for postage.
New best sellers are announced each week, and your library has them for you to borrow at no cost. If we don’t have a book you want to read, just place a request in our “Suggestion Box” or go to our web site (rowancountylibrary.org) and “E-mail the Librarian,” and we’ll get it for you. If you want to read a book we do not own and that is no longer available for purchase, just complete an interlibrary loan request form, and we will borrow the book from a library that has it.
Come in and sit a spell, drink a cup of coffee, and read the latest magazines. With 145 subscriptions from which to choose, you can go fishing, find new recipes, decorate your home, or catch up on the latest yoga techniques, crafts, and world events. Or, maybe you just want to read the newspaper from Olive Hill, Grayson, Morehead, Ashland, Lexington, or Louisville—your library has it!
Stop by and take a look at our DVD collection. With hundreds to choose from, you may find exactly the right movie for an evening of entertainment for yourself or for the entire family.
And, when it comes to family activities and entertainment, hundreds of programs for all ages are provided by your library each year. From weekly lap sit and story time programs, to theatrical and musical performances, to annual events such as Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Party, the Teddy Bear Parade, Fall Fun Night, and Christmas Crafts, your library is a happening place.
You don’t have to spend money and you don’t have to travel far to find fun, information, entertainment, and a friendly face. Your Rowan County Public Library is your community place.
