What is OverDrive? I’m glad you asked!
OverDrive is a global distributor of digital eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video for patrons of public libraries. The Rowan County Public Library is a member of Kentucky Libraries Unbound which is a consortium of public libraries in Kentucky which provides access to OverDrive for their users.
You may choose from over 2,000 titles to download to your MP3, iPod, WMA, or other devices. You may even come to the Library and use our download station; staff will assist you if you wish.
Many of our patrons like to listen to books while they exercise, jog, drive, sit on the beach, or, simply work in the house. To find out what titles are available, just go to rowancountylibrary.org and search our online catalog for electronic resources. Or, log in to Overdrive from our web site by clicking on “Download Audiobooks.” You will be asked for your Library card number and your PIN. Don’t have a Library card? Come to the Library and get one! Don’t have a PIN? Just stop by or call the Library (784-7137) and tell the staff you need a PIN. Then load your online shopping cart, check out your items, and enjoy.
A special note to our current OverDrive users: You will soon be able to set your own date due for materials!
Happy listening from your Rowan County Public Library!
