Remona Gaye Fairchild
1936-2009


WEST LIBERTY - Remona Gaye Fairchild of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 22 days. She was born on Tuesday, March 31, 1936 in Yocum, KY, a daughter of the late Math and Etta Mae Lewis.

Remona was united in marriage to Roy Junior Fairchild. This union was blessed with eight children. Remona was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Blaze Community Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, William Junior and Steven Mitchell Fairchild; one granddaughter, Tana Pennington; one brother, William Russell Lewis; and four sisters, Thelma McGuire, Mae Mills, Ruth K. DeVore, and Goldie Rae Claybrought.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Junior Fairchild; six children, Ronald Keith Fairchild of Morehead, KY, Jerry Fairchild of Pateros, WA, Vickie Fairchild of Morehead, KY, Roger & Mintie Fairchild of Winchester, KY, Mark & Alma Fairchild of Zag, KY, and Pam & Paul Pennington of Sandy Hook, KY; six grandchildren, David Slone Fairchild, Weylin & Alisha Fairchild, Kendra & James Ballard, Joshua Fairchild, Lisa & Little Rock Horton, and Cameron Blake Fairchild; one brother, Millard M. Lewis of West Liberty, KY; and three sisters, Genetta Florence Sexton of West Liberty, KY, Viola Grace Yenser of Harveysburg, OH, and Alice Faye Watkins of West Liberty, KY.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 24, 2009, at the Potter Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Haney & Rev. Vernon Lewis officiating. Burial to follow in the Howard & Lewis Cemetery, Russell Lewis Road, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: J.D. DeVore, Daniel Sexton, Richard Sexton, Dean Fairchild, Greg Fairchild, Glenn Lewis, Les Sexton, Kenny Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Timmy Sexton.
