The editor:
In 1949, we had a booming economy and almost everyone was happy. We elected a group that favored special interests. The stock market grew and grew. Businesses got bigger and bigger. The people got poorer and poorer. The gap between the rich and poor became wider and wider.
Then a terrible cloud of hunger and mistrust swept across the country, and the lobbyists in Washington got larger and larger. The leadership plus special interests got closer and closer to economic slavery.
It seems to me that once again the democracy is so close to perfect (with spiritual law at the top) that the people become so complacent, fat, lazy and let George do it. (No pun intended). Everything is beautiful and they seem to lose interest in what the leaders they elected are doing with their lives, their children and the future of their country.
When the people get complacent, and forget that Democracy is a team with God at the helm, only then can politicians sell the country to the highest bidder, and destroy the greatest plan for all the people that history has ever recorded.
