The editor:
Thursday, May 7 is the National Day of Prayer; a day for people of the Judeo-Christian faith to seek God on behalf of our cities, state and nation. This day has been observed since the early days of our nation's history. The National Day of Prayer has been officially observed in Rowan County for the past 17 years and involves hundreds of people representing almost all of our 60-plus churches.
There are several exciting events that will be held in Morehead. Beginning Saturday, May 2 there will be a Community-Wide Youth Worship & Prayer Explosion called "Shake This City" held at Judah Christian Fellowship (522 E Main next to Mr. Gattis) for all area youth. Local worship bands will be playing.
On Thursday, May 7 there will be Noon Hour Prayer held at the Morehead Conference Center, 3 p.m. Prayer for Our Leaders held at Freedom Park on the Old Courthouse Lawn (all government leaders are invited to attend), 5:30 p.m. Prayer Walk starting at the Conference Center, 6:30 p.m. City-Wide Community Worship at the Conference Center and at 7 p.m. the 17th Annual Community Prayer Service will immediately follow the worship service at the Conference Center. For more information, please visit our new website (thanks to Pastor Jeff Fannin) www.dayofprayer.net & sign up to get involved.
Thanks!
