Donations for elderly appreciated

The editor:

The Gateway Regional Elder Abuse Taskforce would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Kroger in Morehead for allowing us to conduct a food drive in their store on May 6. We would also like to thank anyone who made a donation. Several boxes of food were donated by shoppers and will benefit the elderly who cannot always afford a balanced nutritious meal. GREAT operates food pantries specifically for the elderly in Rowan, Bath, Menifee, Montgomery and Morgan counties. For those interested in becoming a member, the taskforce meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Gateway ADD office. May has been observed as Elder Abuse Awareness month and we appreciate all who made donations to the food drive and work daily to prevent abuse and neglect of our cherished elder population.
