The editor:
With all due respect, maybe someone should tell these people (Ironton, Ohio parade committee) that the “so-called Civil War” was never about slavery, but federal oppression. And it was not a “Civil War” no matter how long it is described as such. We just wanted to govern ourselves. See the Declaration of Independence! Read real history, not just the government-approved version of the facts. Hopeless cause I know, but if not me then who will try. Thanks for your time.
