Why not more election coverage?

The editor:

It was with great disbelief and shock that when I received the Morehead News after the election that instead of the front page covering a historical event, it covered a brush fire.

There was not any mention of the presidential election except for on the second page a blurb about the size of a business card saying “Barack Hussein Obama elected 44th President of the United States”. It does not matter whether you voted Republican or Democrat — November 4, 2008, history was made. The American people elected the first African-American President to run the United States of America.

I find it shocking that The Morehead News did not cover probably one of the biggest news stories in our nation’s history. President-Elect Obama was on the front page of every newspaper publication across the country. Why did we choose to cover a brush fire?

There was also very little mention of local and state elections as well. I am becoming more and more dissatisfied with this paper. Instead having a page with horoscopes and coloring pages, use it to cover news, civic organizations or other community events.
