Pharmacy burglar pleads guilty

August 31, 2010 —     A Clearfield man pled guilty last month in Rowan Circuit Court to the 2007 break-in of Holbrook Drug store. Kenneth Eldridge, 20, of Clearfield was sentenced to six years in prison probated for five years.

    Eldridge was indicted on charges of burglary third-degree and theft of a controlled substance. Eldridge pled guilty to breaking into Holbrook Drug Aug. 20, 2007 and stealing 9,500 pills from the store. The pills had a street value of $10,000 street value, according to police.

    Eldridge went before a Rowan Circuit Court judge and entered a guilty plea July 14.

    “We’re happy that we get the conviction and put some cases to rest,” Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Ronnie Goldy said.

    The investigation in the case was conducted by the Morehead Police Department and done by Captain David Sexton, Detective Ryan Solee and Detective Sgt. Matt Salley. The case was prosecuted by Goldy.
