Anthony Beamon, 32, of Morehead, was arrested after several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen equipment was recovered.
Deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff's Department got information on where the stolen property was, who bought it and the suspects that had sold the property, according to Rowan County Chief Deputy Sheriff Joe Cline.
Equipment was reported missing from a Frontier Housing construction site on Cady Drive nearly a month ago.
“A local flea market vendor purchased a stolen Makita generator, a Rol-Air compressor, a digital water leveling system and a logging chain,” Cline said. “We don't know if they were purchased knowingly or unknowingly.”
Beamon was booked Saturday in the Rowan County Detention Center. He is charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and is being held on $10,000 cash bond.
“Through other information we developed, we approached other folks,” Cline said. “We got back two 20-ton Air Over hydraulics. We returned this property to Frontier Housing.”
Cline said deputies are still searching for other property that belongs to Frontier Housing. A weed cutter is among items that have not been found.
Other arrests are pending.
