Memorial Day Parade


Entries are still being accepted for the “Honor A Veteran” Memorial Day parade to be held Monday, May 28 in downtown Morehead.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. with lineup at 9 a.m. on West Main Street at Wholesale Auto Parts. The parade will end at the site of the former Jerry’s restaurant.

Grand marshals this year will be John Pete Hamm, Lloyd Dean and James Horton.

Flags will be given away to children during the parade.

Among the participants will be the honor guard of the 201st Engineer Bravo Company of Olive Hill, who just returned from a one-year tour in Afghanistan, local high school bands and state and local leaders.

Prizes will be awarded to the best floats.
