Bluegrass music lovers can enjoy the first performance of the Sundown at Moonlight Concert Series starting June 6.
Morehead Tomorrow, Morehead Tourism Commission and the City of Morehead proudly present Scott Tackett and Kentucky Sunrise as the first performers in this summer’s concert series.
Like all music groups, Tackett’s group will be singing at the Moonlight Stage, which is located on First Street next to the old Moonlight School building. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m on Friday. It is free and open to the public.
Morehead Tomorrow and Morehead Tourism Director Terri Alderman said concert attendees should bring a blanket or a lawn chair to sit on during the event. There will be handicap accessibility with nearby parking available for those needing it.
"We are pleased to have Scott Tackett & Kentucky Sunrise open the Sundown Concert Series at the Moonlight Stage. Scott is a very talented artist and is from Carter County. He and his band will provide some great entertainment for our community," said Alderman.
Tackett also is the Viking girls' basketball coach.
Another concert to look for this summer is the rock group Seven Turn. This group will be performing at the Moonlight Stage on Saturday, July 5. The Opossum Trot Blues Band will perform on Friday, Aug. 1.
