Death in I-64 wreck

From staff reports

A West Liberty man was pronounced dead Monday afternoon when his vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer on 1-64, according to police.

Kentucky State Police said Clark Legg, 62, was heading westbound on I-64 in his 2000 Ford Ranger at 4:30 p.m. when he was hit by a Volvo tractor-trailer operated by Charles Mosconi, 51, Freedom, Pa.

Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt pronounced Legg dead at the scene at 4:51 p.m. Legg was not wearing his seat belt when the accident occurred, police said. Mosconi, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured in the cash.

Official closed down I-64 for about two hours after the accident to investigate the scene, but the cause of the accident is still under investigation by Trooper D. Zimmerman.
