Lexington man killed in crash

From staff reports

A Lexington man was killed Friday when a West Liberty man allegedly drove his vehicle into the other lane striking the Lexington’s man car.

Morgan County Coroner Kenny Perry pronounced Ronald Zavitz, no age given, dead at the scene in connection to an accident about 11:25 a.m. along KY 519 at the three-mile marker.

Kentucky State Police said Brock Standafer, 18, was traveling northbound in a Dodge pickup when he crossed the line and hit a Hyundai driven by Zavitz.

Standafer’s vehicle then struck a Chevrolet causing non-life threatening injuries to the three passengers. Both Zavitz and Standafer had to be removed from the wreckage by mechanical means.

The accident is being investigated by KSP.
