MOREHEAD
MARCH 5 — The Morehead Police Department is investigating after a car was stolen from a Morehead State University fraternity house.
Police were contacted at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday that the victim returned from the Front Porch restaurant to find his silver 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier no longer parked at the Theta Chi house.
According to police, the victim left the car unlocked with the keys in it in the driveway. The vehicle has yet to be recovered.
The theft is under investigation by MPD officer Derek Howard.
In a non-related incident, City of Morehead employees discovered Thursday morning a light pole knocked over across from Eddie’s Shell. Someone apparently had driven on the sidewalk and hit it with their car.
According to police, this isn’t the first time the pole has been hit.
Jeremy Cauley is investigating the incident.
In another non-related vandalism report, the MPD is investigating after a car was broken into at the Rowan County School Bus garage.
According to police, on Saturday morning, Jody Clevenger of Morehead noticed the back driver’s side window shattered out of her 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck that had been parked at the garage over night.
Upon further investigation, Clevenger found blood inside the vehicle on the seats and doors.
Police said no one was admitted to St. Claire Regional Medical Center with cuts that would have been caused from the window during the time period of the vandalism. According to police, there was no surveillance video available on the truck’s parking spot.
The incident is under investigation by MPD Sgt. Kyle Callahan.
The MPD said they have no leads at this time in these cases. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or the MPD.
