Fiscal Court calls special meeting

July 31, 2012 —         Rowan County Fiscal Court will hold a special meeting today at noon to open bids for the new animal shelter.

        Josh Trent, building designer, said he made blue print copies available to prospective builders at Post Net in Morehead after the fiscal court began their advertisement for bids in early July.

        Rowan County Judge-Executive Jim Nickell said prospective bidders must have turned in their bids by the beginning of the special called meeting.

        “Any bids coming in after the meeting will not be accepted,” said Nickell.

        “The committee, along with Rowan County Attorney Cecil Watkins, will review the bids,” he said. “We hope to have a decision made with an announcement of the bid award at the next regularly scheduled meeting on Aug. 21.”
