Man charged with marijuana trafficking

July 31, 2012 —         Morehead Police arrested Clifton Murray, 21, after receiving a complaint by neighbors who said a strong marijuana odor was coming from his apartment Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers detected a strong odor, believed to be burning marijuana, coming from an apartment located at 144 East Main Street.

When Murray opened the apartment door, MPD said the odor became stronger and that paraphernalia could be seen indicating active marijuana use.

Upon further investigation, officers found nine different illegal substances.

Murray was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, seven counts possession of a controlled substance first degree and two counts possession of a controlled substance third degree.

He is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond.
