May 22, 2012 — Morehead attorney Ronnie Goldy Jr. will be the next commonwealth’s attorney in the 21st Judicial Circuit consisting of Rowan, Bath, Menifee and Montgomery counties.
He carried three of the four counties in Tuesday’s Democratic primary and garnered a total of 2,575 votes.
No Republican filed for the office.
Finishing second was Cynthia Gale Rose of Mt. Sterling with 1,841. Gary Adkins of Morehead received 1,290 votes.
Goldy, now an assistant to retiring Commonwealth’s Attorney Keen Johnson, was victorious in Rowan, Bath and Menifee counties. Rose carried Montgomery County.
Goldy starts his six-year term in January. He has been a lawyer for 11 years.
