March 18, 2010 — A Morehead man died Wednesday afternoon in a freak accident while working in Lexington for a landfill company.
Jesse Hodges, 27, was helping load bins for transport at a landfill at 4179 Hedger Lane when he was pinned between two Dumpsters about 10:46 a.m., according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
Hodges was an employee of Demolition Disposal Services. He was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Medical Center at 2:40 p.m. The cause of death was listed as multiple blunt force trauma by the coroner’s office. The incident is being investigated as an accident.
Hodges is survived by his wife Shayne and stepchildren Kyler and Shelby Gilbert. He was the son of Steve and Cindy Hodges of Morehead.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell, Rev. Jeff Fannin, and Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Family Cemetery on Sharkey Road.
