Sept. 21, 2012 —
Two of three men accused of the 2005 double murder of a Fleming County couple have pleaded to lesser charges.
Rodney “Dwayne” Dodson, 37, of Dayton, Ohio, pleaded guilty last Friday in Rowan Circuit Court to two counts of complicity to murder and one count of first-degree robbery.
Jason Jackson, 34, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of complicity to murder, robbery, burglary and tampering with physical evidence.
The two men reportedly have agreed to testify against the third suspect, Ronald Fairchild, 43.
All three were charged with murder last May in the deaths of Donald Walker, 43, and Marlene Mauk, 23, both of Goddard.
Dodson and Jackson will be sentenced in December.
The trials of all three men were moved to Rowan County after defense attorneys asked for a change of venue.
Fairchild's trial is tentatively set for Nov. 5.
The Walker-Mauk murders were the first to be solved as part of the Kentucky Unsolved Cases Playing Card initiative.
