Former center program director accused of child pornography

A former Morehead Inspiration Center Program Director and Pathways employee is being charged with alleged possession of child pornography. Raymond Leist III was arrested Thursday for possession of matter portraying the sexual performance of a minor.

“I received information that Mr. Leist possessed the material on multiple computers, both at his work and home,” Morehead Police Detective Sgt. Matt Salley said. “Enough probable cause was developed and a search warrant was issued for those electronic items.”

According to Salley the Kentucky State Police Computer Crimes Unit did a forensics examination and enough evidence was obtained to charge Leist with the crime. Leist moved to Louisville since the investigation went underway, so he is currently being housed in the Jefferson County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing by Salley.
