Men ages 18 to 30 of Morehead and surrounding areas are coming together for a spiritual retreat. The first annual Men of Promise Conference will be held Oct. 16 and 17 at Mt. Hope campground off KY 32 in Fleming County. The retreat will begin Friday night at 6 p.m. and run until Saturday at noon with the Morehead-based band “Echoes into Eternity” providing the music with special guest speaker Pastor David Gifford.
Echo33 ministries are organizing the Men of Promise retreat.
“Echo33 Ministries (formerly known as Watchmen33 Ministries) is a Christ-based non-denominational outreach group that tries to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the love of Jesus Christ in anyway possible,” Dallas McKinney of Echo33 Ministries said.
“This will be the men of the church coming together to strengthen each other and step up and help them to truly be the men of the church,” McKinney said. “We strengthen each other when we come together not only do we serve the needs of our church but our community and others as well.”
“We hope to break down any barrier that separate us so that we can truly worship together one body of Christ,” McKinney said.
Participants are requested to bring hygiene supplies and linens to sleep on for the night. Showers, dorms and food will be provided; the cost of the event is $30 and pre-registration is requested for those interested in attending. For more information call 776-8135.
