A warrant was served in Bath County for a man being charged in connection to the murder of his son.
Ernest Henry Banks of Campton was arrested Oct. 1 and charged with facilitation to commit murder in the death of his son Elson Banks, 39. Ernest Banks is also the father of Bronson Banks, 37, of Bratton Loop, who has been charged with the murder of his brother Elson.
“Through the information given to the jury, Henry Banks implicated himself in his statements and the grand jury saw fit to indict him,” Kentucky State Police Detective Donnie McGraw said. “I think as of right now we’ve got the arrests (in this case) covered.”
“Facilitation to commit murder is to conspire with another to commit the offense,” McGraw said. “A person is acting with the knowledge that another is committing or the process of committing a crime and he provides such person with means or opportunity for commission of the crime.”
Ernest Banks is being lodged at Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville on a $425,000 full cash bond.
Wolfe County Coroner Frank Porter pronounced Elson Banks dead at his residence at 9:55 a.m. on Aug. 18 with multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation is ongoing by McGraw.
