Clearfield residents arrested

Drug charges net jail time

Two Clearfield residents were taken to jail this week on drug arrests.

At 11:18 p.m. Sunday night, Morehead Police Sgt. Erik Caudill noticed a motorist acting suspiciously when a car driven behind Morehead Tire and Auto on Bradley Avenue did not return.

After doing a search of the vehicle, Caudill allegedly found Oxycontin and other drugs in the possession of the driver and passenger.

Jill Christopher, 33, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license and not having a license in her possession.

Also charged was Roy Walker, 37, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree, possession of a controlled substance, third-degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing by the MPD.

In a non-related incident another McBrayer Road resident was arrested and charged with intoxication and drug possession. Brandon Stone, 29, of Clearfield was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance, third-degree and prescription drugs not in a proper container.

The MPD responded to a complaint of someone attempting to enter a Divide Hill apartment Monday morning. Officer Derrick Blevins responded to the call at 9:34 a.m. Monday, questioned and searched Stone and found the drugs in his possession.

Stone was arrested and transported to the Rowan County Detention Center.
