A woman was injured after she attempted to avoid a gravel truck Wednesday morning on KY 519, according to police.
Kentucky State Police said Kourtney Howard of Salyersville was driving a Chrysler Sebring LXI on KY 519 South near East Clack Mountain Road when the accident occurred. Emergency crews received the call and responded around 11:15 a.m.
Witnesses said it appeared that Howard hydroplaned and fish-tailed around a curve past East Clack Mountain Road. She overcorrected to avoid a gravel truck, according to police. The car flipped over onto its top. Howard was not trapped in the vehicle and was wearing her seatbelt, police said.
Howard was transported by Morehead-Rowan EMS to St. Claire Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released, police said.
The Morehead Fire Department responded.
The accident remains under investigation by Trooper David Zimmerman.
