Everyone is encouraged to come in from the cold and rock with local and out-of-town music artists during the all-day ReverbShop.com Music Festival slated for Nov. 21. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets now because seating is limited.
“We had to cancel the festival that was scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Jaycee Park because the people that was operating the sound equipment did not want their equipment in the rain,” said Jay DeWitt, president of ReverbShop.com. “So we had to reschedule the event and move it to the Morehead Conference Center.”
DeWitt, a former Morehead State University student who settled in Morehead, had a vision to bring concerts to Morehead.
“When I was in college, I always heard people say there’s nothing to do in Morehead,” DeWitt said. “I wanted to bring concerts like this one I’m planning to Morehead so that everyone would have something to do and enjoy.”
DeWitt said there was a lot of musical talent in the eastern Kentucky region and he wanted to see those people get discovered for their talents. DeWitt came up with the idea to start a musical artist promotional company called ReverbShop.com in Morehead and partnered with Breakin Ground Entertainment in Mt. Sterling to host the festival.
“The vision for ReverbShop is to promote artists from national as well as the local level,” he said.” The event (music fest) is the official launch party of the reverbshop.com website,” DeWitt said as he further explained the reason for the event.
Music genres that are represented at the show are hard rock, alternative, progressive rock, southern rock, R&B;, Hip Hop, and Reggae. The bands scheduled to perform are: Trust The Gun, Truth Be Told, the Shallow, Dead at Zero, HS & HG, Lucid Grey, Split Nixon, Burn to Shine, KD, Code Red, a hip hop artist Buck Shot and Trista Mabry.
The vendors that were scheduled to be at the event changed, DeWitt added.
“The bands will still have their product tables but the concessions will be done by Lundy’s,” he said.
Those who purchased tickets for the Oct. 17 date will receive a free T-shirt if they present their ticket at the door the day of the concert.
“Seating is limited because it is in the conference center,” DeWitt said. “We encourage people to hurry to purchase their tickets. Tickets are $25 each.”
DeWitt said there will be VIP packages available for anyone who wants to meet the artists.
“The VIP packages will allow people to go backstage after the concert,” he said. “There will be free food, drinks and a meet and greet with the artists. The packages cost $100. There are 20 plus packages available for purchase. VIP guests will receive autographed CDs, band merchandise in addition to having the backstage access.”
Tickets are on sale at Quality Chiropractic on Main Street in Morehead and SoundSkin Ink in Mt. Sterling.
