A Morehead woman was injured after the vehicle she was operating was rear ended while she waited to make a left turn onto KY 158 Friday morning, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheila Brown, 46, of Morehead, was operating a black 2000 Toyota Tacoma westbound on KY 32 waiting to turn left onto KY 158 when she was rear ended by a Toyota Tercel operated by Kimberly Harris, 19, of Hillsboro, said Sheriff Deputy Ruford Abner. The accident occurred around 11:18 a.m. Friday.
Harris said she did not see Brown attempting to make the left turn and she could not stop on time to avoid the accident, Abner said.
Harris and Brown were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center by Morehead-Rowan County EMS. Harris had neck and back injuries, police said. She was treated and released. Brown was treated for back pain. Police could not confirm when Brown was released from the hospital.
Morehead Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by Abner.
