A Salt Lick woman died Friday night after being struck by a car while she was walking along U.S. 60 at Midland, according to police.
Kentucky State Police said Jerry Flannery, 60, of Morehead, was eastbound on U.S. 60 at 6:10 p.m. when his vehicle struck a female walking westbound on the eastbound shoulder.
Sheryl A. Williams, 41, was knocked into a ditch off the right shoulder of the road, police said. She was transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center by Bath County EMS where she later died.
Flannery was cited for nontraffic offenses, police said.
The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Hector Alcala.
