A carload of people were taken to the Rowan County Detention Center after police say they were intoxicated, one of which was driving.
The Morehead Police Department responded to a complaint Dec. 14 of an intoxicated patron of Slone’s Signature Market walking unstable around the store. Police say the man then got into a 1998 Ford Crown Vic and attempted to leave the parking lot, backing into shopping carts.
The MPD then located the vehicle southbound on KY 32 turning onto U.S. 60. The vehicle then began to cross out of the lane onto the right side of the road. The stop revealed four intoxicated adults.
Jody Holbrook, 36, of Olive Hill was charged with operating a mother vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, after failing a field sobriety test given by the MPD. Holbrook is also charged with possession of a controlled substance second-degree and possession of a controlled substance second-degree and paraphernalia.
Mark Fannin, 44, of Sandy Hook was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance first-degree, and possession of a controlled substance third-degree. Dixie Fannin, 30, of Frenchburg and Charles Ison, 45, of Webbville were charged with public intoxication.
MPD officers Bryan Worley and Ben Castle arrested the quartet.
In a non-related case, the MPD is investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence on old Cranston Road. Electronic items were stolen from the residence including a playstation 3, 19-inch television, 32-inch LCD television, surround system, video games and a jar of change.
Police say the total amount missing is worth $3,500. The victim left for work early the morning of Dec. 10 and came home the same afternoon and noticed a small windowpane was knocked out of the door at the residence.
The MPD have no leads but have set the time frame of the burglary from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or the MPD.
