The Kentucky State Police Morehead post is investigating a wreck involving a state truck that killed a Morgan County man Monday.
According to police, Philip Greg McKenzie, 42, of West Liberty was driving a 1991 Ford pickup truck westbound on US 172 when he crossed the center line striking head on a State Transportation Cabinet 2008 Ford truck driven by Clarence Hunley. Morgan County Coroner Kenny Perry pronounced McKenzie dead at the scene at 2:27 p.m. Monday.
McKenzie was not wearing a safety belt, police said. Hunley was not injured in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by KSP trooper Mike McPherson.

Parking issues top Council agenda
Administrative matters took up much of the agenda at Monday’s regular meeting of the Morehead City Council, but the perennial downtown parking issue arose again. Council discussed problems with persons being ticketed during downtown events such as Noon Tunes, and passed a motion directing Mayor David Perkins to identify means to encourage citizens to patronize Main Street businesses over the summer, which may include relaxing downtown parking rules.
