Extreme low temperatures have settled near the New England area and it is bringing deep moisture through out the south and eastern area of the United States.
Many schools and businesses are closed due to the winter weather. The National Weather Service weather experts said citizens can expect to see snow throughout the week.
Monday, Morehead residents woke up to a small blanket of snow on the ground and the Rowan County School System cancelled classes for the day due to hazardous road conditions and freezing temperatures.
The moisture coming from the cold front stretching from the New England area is helping to enhance some snow flurries that scattered across Indiana, as well as a few spots in north central Kentucky and the eastern Kentucky region, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service said.
Light snows will accompany the deep-freezing temperatures and will drop down throughout the southeast with the best chances of snow generally east of the I-65 corridor, according to the NOAA. The same weather conditions will remain throughout Tuesday morning with snow showers diminishing by the afternoon. Dry conditions are expected tonight through tomorrow morning. Although dry conditions are expected, the NOAA said, temperatures will still be very cold ranging from 18-20 degrees below normal.
The NOAA said snowy conditions are expected to last throughout the rest of the week.

Morehead woman pleads guilty to incest, sodomy
A Morehead woman pleaded guilty Wednesday in Rowan Circuit Court to five crimes involving the sexual abuse of her young son.
