Bath stabbing death leads to murder charge

Oct. 23, 2012 — Perez Santiza, 40, was arrested Friday night in Bath County and charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence.

He was lodged in the Montgomery County Regional Jail.

Kentucky State Police and Bath County sheriff’s deputies made the arrest after the body of Juan Garcia, 38, was found with multiple stab wounds at 6332 White Oak Road, Owingsville.

Police said Santiza and Garcia shared the home and that a quarrel had erupted into a fight.

The alleged murder weapon was found near the scene, it was reported.

Garcia’s body was transported to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort where an autopsy was performed Sunday, according to Bath County Coroner Robbie Powell.

The case remains under investigation by KSP Detective David Zimmerman.
