The Kentucky Department of Highways urges motorists to travel with caution along US 60 east of Morehead in Rowan County today because of an adjacent forest fire. Smoke could reduce visibility, especially later this evening.
Highway crews and local law enforcement are monitoring the situation, and will temporarily close the road or restrict traffic if necessary to protect the traveling public. U.S. Forest Service officials and firefighters are responding to the blaze. Motorists should slow down, drive carefully near emergency crews and heed all warning signs.

Molly McBride, 21, of Morehead, a student at Morehead State University, was killed early Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on the Bluegrass Parkway near Bardstown in Nelson County.
