The Morehead Police Department is investigating after someone broke into the Flea Market sometime Monday night into Tuesday morning.
According to police they responded to the complaint just after 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. Someone threw a brick through the front door of the store and shattered the glass to gain entry, police said. Upon entering the store the burglar then stole antique coins and proceeded to break items inside the store.
The incident is under investigation by Patrolman James Sergent. The MPD has no leads in the case at this time. Anyone with information of the crime is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or the MPD.
In a non-related case, the MPD is looking for a male and female after Wal-Mart officials said they stole $855 worth of merchandise from the store Wednesday.
According to police the couple put a Play Station 3 (PS3) in their cart from the electronics aisle and then removed the device from the box in another part of the store and then concealed it under other items in the cart and left the store without paying for it. Police said the couple then returned to the store five hours later and did the same thing stealing another PS3 and a dual shock controller. The couple then left the store with the game system concealed in their cart and left the premises in a white SUV with a Kentucky license plate.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the MPD or their local law enforcement office.
The incident is under investigation by officer Philip Blackburn and Detective Sgt. Matt Salley.
