The Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead has a new commander. Eleven-year KSP veteran Captain Bobby D. Murray takes over command of the post after the departure of Captain John Blanton.
Murray transferred to Post 8 Aug. 16 from his position as Commander of the Driver Testing Branch in Frankfort.
Murray said he’s had a pleasant Morehead experience so far.
“I had heard a lot of good things about the post before I actually got here,” Murray said. “I knew just a few days before my arrival that I was coming to this post and from our command staff to the former commander I’ve heard nothing but good things about it and my reception here has been that, it’s been very pleasant. The people are great and it’s been really good.”
Murray is a seven-year veteran of the United States Army where he served with both the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. He is a resident of Madisonville where he lives with his wife Robin and his two daughters Haliegh and Shelby.
