September 7, 2010 —     A Fall Festival will be held at the Peddlers Mall in the Pinecrest Plaza on Sept. 11 and 12. According to organizers, the festival will feature gospel singing and include outdoor food vendors and door prizes for adults and children given out both days.

“It’s to have some fun days for the public and surrounding counties,” organizer Mary Reedy said. “It’s one way of letting people know about Peddlers Mall in the surrounding counties.”

The festival will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the music beginning at 2 p.m. On Sunday the festival opens at 11 a.m. and the music starts at 1 p.m. The festival lineup includes Ernest Carter and the bluegrass hymn trio with Mary Reedy, River Bottom Rhythm Band, Jeff Stamper, and David Keeton with Tony Miller.

“It’s about having a festival for the community for people to have fun and enjoy,” Reedy said. “I think it will be good for the community, we don’t get to have our festivals like we used to. It’ll let people know we’ve got something new going on in Morehead.”

The fall festival will run until 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.
