Nov. 16, 2012 — For the second consecutive year, Morehead State University has set a record for fall enrollment with 11,172 students, President Wayne D. Andrews announced Friday.
The previous mark, in the fall of 2011, was 10,971.
“My sincere appreciation goes out to the entire University community,” said Dr. Andrews. “Accomplishments like this are the result of a deliberate team effort and cannot be achieved through individual efforts alone.”
Fall enrollment was bolstered by a 20 percent increase in first-time freshmen on campus.
MSU’s Class of 2016 grew this fall by more than 277 additional freshmen compared to last year. The 1,649 first-time freshman enrollment also is the largest in school history.
