The Morehead State women's basketball team looked to maintain its hold on one of the upper spots in the OVC standings this week starting Thursday night in Nashville, Tenn., against Tennessee State (after press time).
The Eagles are 14-7 overall and 7-2 in the OVC and in second place right now. Only five MSU women's basketball teams since 1984-85 have compiled 15 of more wins in a season.
Tennessee State is 7-11 overall and 4-5 in the league. The Eagles defeated TSU 61-47 in Johnson Arena on Jan. 4. Oby Okafor, who was injured all of the last season, leads the Lady Tigers with 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
MSU leads the all-time series with TSU 27-16, but the Eagles have lost the last two times they ventured into TSU's arena.
After Thursday night's tilt, the Eagles will travel up Interstate 24 to take on Austin Peay Saturday at 6:15 p.m. EST.
