MSU Athletic Department presents the 2008-09 Year in Review


The 2008-09 year was one of if not the best in Morehead State athletics history with numerous awards, NCAA and OVC Tournament appearances, and a success rate on the field unmatched by any other year in MSU history. The athletics department proudly presents this annual report as a testament to the success the department achieved during this banner year. The report highlights each individual programs' successes and awards and also hightlights MSU's achievements in academics as well as a look ahead to 2009-10.

Nearly every team advanced to the OVC Tournament and the men's basketball and soccer teams made appearances in the NCAA Tournament as well as rifle team member Elizabeth Lyon participating in the NCAA smallbore championship.

In addition, the department saw a plethora of student-athletes receiving academic awards, including academic all-district and academic all-american honors. The football team placed 47 student-athletes on the PFL academic honor roll.

Morehead State placed fourth in the first OVC Commissioner's Cup race and was only mere points away from winning the trophy.

Our hope is that you enjoy this report, and that 2009-10 will be another tremendous year in MSU athletics history.
