Morehead State University held its “Celebration of MSU Athletics” Friday and Saturday, June 19-20. The two-day event was presented by Booth Energy.
During the weekend, participants had the opportunity to meet with visiting celebrities, MSU coaches, and numerous current Eagle athletes.
The activities kicked off on Friday night with a reception at the Adron Doran University Center on the MSU campus, which was followed by dinner, an auction and entertainment. The auction was sponsored by The Citizens Bank of Morehead.
The highlight Saturday was the Steve Hamilton Celebrity Golf Tournament at MSU’s Eagle Trace Golf Course where 25 teams participated in the event. The goals of the Steve Hamilton Project are to create a permanent display for his memorabilia collection; to increase the Scholarship Fund; and to establish the Steve Hamilton Athletic Director’s Fund which will target the most urgent needs of athletic programs.
“It was good to visit with all our friends of MSU Athletics,” said Brian Hutchinson, MSU’s director of intercollegiate athletics. “We want to thank everyone that attended. It was good to see all the former players and coaches and to hear all those Steve Hamilton stories again.”
