Rowan County Youth Football Camp July 9-10

The Rowan County Youth Football Camp is July 9-10 at Rowan County Senior High School football field for grades K-6. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Camp hours are Thursday 9-11:30 a.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to noon. Camp features a punting, passing, and kicking contest on Friday. Each position will be supervised by Rowan County High School coaching staff. Items to wear: T-shirt, shorts, cleats, and tennis shoes if raining. Pizza will be served for lunch on Friday and T-shirts for each player will be given out. Fundamentals will be emphasized in the following areas: Offense fundamentals--stance and start, hand-offs, passing, receiving, blocking; Defensive fundamentals--stance and 1st step, read keys, proper tackling technique, fumble recovery, interception; Specialties--kicking, punting, long snapping; Conditioning--form running, agility, touch football games. Camp will be staffed by RCSHS football coaches, RCMS football coaches, and RCSHS players.

With pre-registration, cost is $45. For day of camp registration, cost is $50. Each additional camper is $30. Pre-register by July 2. Make checks payable to Rowan County Football Booster Club. Include student’s name, grade next year, school, home phone number, insurance provider (bring copy of insurance card to register), if position played is offense or defense, parent’s name and work number, emergency contact name and number, and t-shirt size.
