April 2, 2010 —
Coming off a week where he doubled his season home run and RBIs total, Morehead State sophomore Cameron Flynn was named the national Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballInsider.com Wednesday.
In four games last week, Flynn batted .588 (10 for 17) with four home runs and 16 RBI. The Lexington native smacked two doubles and one triple, scored seven runs and slugged a remarkable 1.529. He knocked in a career-high six in a mid-week win over Indiana, before homering three times and tallying nine RBI in an OVC doubleheader against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday.
Flynn had already been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for his efforts and has continued his hot streak, batting 2-4 in Tuesday’s win over Georgetown and belting his fifth home run in as many games.
Flynn and the rest of the baseball Eagles face SIU Edwardsville this weekend for a three-game set starting Friday at 7 p.m. at Allen Field.
