The Morehead State women's tennis team battled yet another tough opponent Saturday, falling 7-0 to 66th-ranked Marshall. The Eagles sit at 0-3 in 2010.
The Herd defeated five of the Eagles' singles players in straight sets except for Alix Lakow at number six. Lakow picked up a 6-4 set one decision over Kara Kucin before falling 7-6 and 10-1 in sets two and three.
At number one, Dominika Zaprazna knocked off Alexandra Rydberg 6-1, 6-1.Catherine Keller handed Madeleinne Antero the same result on court two, while sophomore Alix Young was swept 6-0 in her first set on court three before making it a tough second set battle for Deanna Bailey and falling 7-6.
Kayla Tuscany dropped a 6-3, 6-4 match to Kristina Koprcina at number four, and Thaddea Lock took down Brooke Helms 6-2, 6-1 on court five.
The Herd also took all three wins in doubles. The closest battle came at number two where Antero and Young lost 8-5.
The Eagles' next match comes on Saturday, Jan, 30 at University of Evansville.
