June 1, 2012 — The 11U Cave Run Muskies traveled to Cincinnati this past weekend to win the 2012 Triple Crown Sports 21 Gun Salute 11U Championship.
The tournament was filled with some of the areas best 11U talent from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania. The Muskies captured the title over Cincinnati River Dawgs in the tournament Championship game, winning 14-6.
Two other huge wins for the Muskies during bracket play included a 12-2 win over the Columbus Custom X Baseball team and a 12-0 win over the #1 seed of the tournament, the Kentucky Bucs.
The tournament championship gives the 11U Muskies an automatic bid into the Triple Crown Sports 11U National Championships later this fall. The Muskies have a record of 34 wins and only 4 losses.
They have won three tournament championships so far and now head into heavy tournament season. Tournament championships for 2012 include the USSSA Louisville March Madness 11U Championship, the USSSA Kentucky Spring Classic 11U Championship, and the Triple Crown Sports 21 Gun Salute 11U Championship.
The Muskies are currently ranked by Travel Ball Select as the #24 major team in the country for 11 Under select travel baseball.
Upcoming Tournaments in the next two months include the BPA Pepsi Summer Blast 11U Championship in Hopkinsville, the Baseball Youth 11U Elite Championship at Cave Run Muskies Park, and the Grand Slam 11U World Series in Panama City Beach, Florida.
