The Ohio Valley Conference announced its women's basketball weekly awards on Monday, and, for the fourth time this year, Morehead State junior guard Chynna Bozeman was named Player of the Week.
Bozeman put together one of the most prolific weeks in MSU history in games at Tennessee State and Austin Peay. Against Tennessee State, she helped spur a comeback victory with 30 points, including a 17-for-17 effort at the free throw line. Her charity toss total set a school and OVC record for free throw percentage in a game, and she ran her streak of consecutive made free throws to 19, which is also a school record.
Then, at Austin Peay Saturday Bozeman went off for a career high 37 points, including a school record-tying nine three-pointers on 13 attempts.
For the week, she averaged 33.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 52 percent from three point range.
Bozeman now has 80 three pointers this season to rank second in the nation among Division I players. She also upped her career total to 232, which ranks third on the MSU career list and just three out of second place. She now also needs only 17 more to break the Ohio Valley Conference record held by former Eagle Kandi Brown.
MSU is home this week to host Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech.
