MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State assistant tennis coach Damar Johnson was inducted into the University of Louisville's Tennis Hall of Fame, also known as "The Best of the Best," this past weekend.
Johnson, in his second year on head coach Kevin Fulton's staff, was among the most successful individual players in Cardinal history. He was ranked in the ITA top 50 all four years and was part of the 2005 Big East doubles championship pair. He advanced to the Midwest Region ITA quarterfinals. In doubles, Johnson climbed to as high as a number seven national ranking.
He still ranks fourth in U of L history with 74 doubles victories. Johnson was also a Big East Academic All-Star.
Johnson has also participated in the Davis Cup for his native Jamaica.
