Morehead State head women's basketball coach Mike Bradbury has announced that four high school seniors have signed national letters to join the Eagle program for the 2010-11 season. The newest Eagles are: guard Allie Turner (Enon, Ohio/Greenon HS),guard Kayla Lamotte (Mason, Ohio/Mason HS), guard Tyler Ituen (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield HS) and power forward Lianna Innocent (Vandalia, Ohio/Butler HS).
Turner, a 5-foot-5 guard, joins the MSU program with prolific offensive credentials. She averaged 29 points per game for Greenon High School last season, including a 40-point game. She was named First-Team All-Southwest District by theDayton Daily News .
"Allie is an outstanding player. She will bring a skill set that will let her play the one or two spot in our system," said Bradbury. "Her ability to shoot from long range will help us stretch the defense."
Lamotte is a 5-foot-7 guard from Mason High School. She averaged nine points and six rebounds per game last season.
"Kayla is an athletic guard who has great hands and an ability to get the ball to the basket as well as being a great defender," said Bradbury.
Ituen, a 5-foot-8 guard, comes to MSU from Whitfield High School in St. Louis. She scored 13 points per game and grabbed seven rebounds per outing last year as well as averaging three assists per game.
"Tyler is a long and athletic guard who can play the one, two or three positions," said Bradbury. "She can handle the ball and is a great shooter with deep range."
Innocent is a 6-foot-2 power forward from Butler High School in Vandalia, Ohio - in the Dayton metro area. She scored eight points and pulled in five rebounds per game last year. She also shot a very accurate 49 percent from the field and 81 percent at the free throw line.
"Lianna is a strong power forward who is a great rebounder. Also, her ability to score around the basket and be a good defender should provide depth."
