Morehead State head men’s and women’s tennis coach Kevin Fulton has had his contract with the university renewed through 2013. MSU Director of Athletics Brian Hutchinson announced the renewal this week.
“Kevin has nurtured these programs along with character and integrity. I am confident that we’ll continue improving under his leadership,” said Hutchinson.
“I am very excited to continue the pursuit of a championship here at MSU. I am very grateful that Brian has given me the opportunity to coach at a place I love,” said Fulton.
Fulton has been leading the Eagle programs since 2005-06, coming to Morehead after serving as head coach at Indiana University-Southeast. His Eagle teams have gradually improved since his hiring, and the men’s team advanced to the Ohio Valley Conference championship last season.
Also under Fulton’s leadership, 39 Eagle tennis student-athletes have earned status on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Senior Heather Butt was named Academic All-District last season, and the Eagles have also been one of the most active MSU programs serving in the community.
Fulton was a volunteer assistant with the nationally-ranked University of Louisville men’s program from 2000-03.
