Katelyn Barbour, a former All-American setter at Morehead State, has joined the MSU coaching staff as an assistant coach. Head coach Jaime Gordon announced the addition of Barbour to his staff this week.
"We are thrilled to have Katelyn as a member of our staff. Her expertise and leadership will be a nice addition to an already excellent staff," said Gordon.
Barbour was a member of two Ohio Valley Conference championship teams (2007 and 2008) and three 20-win squads. She was named First-Team All-OVC in 2007 and Second-Team all-conference in 2006 and 2008. After the 2008 season, she was named First-Team All-Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and an Honorable mention All-American by the AVCA.
She finished her career ranked second in career assists at MSU with 4,678. That figure also ranked on the OVC's all-time top 10 list of assists. She also owns the second and third highest assists totals for a single season in MSU history.
On defense, Barbour piled up 1,314 career digs which ranks ninth all-time at MSU. She also posted 466 career kills.
